The mailing of the 2017 Motor Vehicle Tax Bills will be delayed.
Pending legislation will cause the delay the mailing of the 2017 Motor Vehicle tax bills only.
The Rhode Island General Assembly is currently hearing proposed legislation that may change how motor vehicles are valued and the tax calculated. Please be advised that the mailing of the motor vehicle tax bills will be delayed until such time as a final vote is taken and the results are made known.
As a result, the first quarter due date for the MOTOR VEHICLE tax bill is now September 1st, 2017 and the remaining quarterly payments, if applicable, will be November 5th, February 5th, and May 5th.
Please note: All Real Estate and Tangible Personal Property Tax Bill payment due dates remain unchanged.
