Welcome to the Newport Harbormaster's Home page. The office of the Harbormaster is located in Perrotti Park at 39 America's Cup Avenue.

The working frequency for the Harbor Division is VHF. Channel 14.

Newport Harbor Dredging Project Underway

This City dredging project is removing 10,000 cubic yards of silt from the north easternmost corner of Newport's inner harbor. This area will now be navigable, with a uniform depth of 9 feet, enabling the installation of new piers and docks at Perrotti Park and setting the stage for future expansion along Long Wharf.

The dredged material is being collected on a 140' scow, and transported up to the Providence Harbor contained aquatic disposal (CAD) site. The dredging is scheduled to be completed by the end of January.

The U.S. Coast Guard will terminate U.S. LORAN-C signals on February 8th, 2010.

Harbor Management operates three patrol boats, two 25' and the other 20' in length.

Public dinghy docks for short and long term tie-ups are available for visiting boaters.

The Division also operates the ferry and cruise ship passenger checkpoints, tender docks and the new public waiting area and restrooms, located in the Harbormaster building in Perrotti Park on America's Cup Boulevard.
