Pickleball has moved outdoors!  Four dedicated pickleball courts are located in Hunter Park.  Entrance is off of Third Street on Dyers Gate Street.  Limited parking.  It's a good idea to carpool or walk when possible.  Please be conscientious of time on the court when others are waiting.  Pickleball is a very social game.  Invite others to rotate in!

Recreation Department actively services the entire community through it's various recreation and sports activities, & sports facilities, overseeing the Martin Recreation Center, Cardines Baseball Field, Freebody Park Sports Complex, as well as park activities at smaller ball fields and parks located throughout the city.

Special events include Easter Egg Hunts, Santa's Workshops, Vacation Camps as well as summer concerts, and family centered events. Additional information to help sponsor or attend is available under the links located on the left hand side of this page.

The Recreation Department is dedicated to providing support for community-wide special events.

Seasonal activities, leagues, and special events for adults, youth, and families are a big part of the department, and information is available on the website and on flyers available at the office at 35 Golden Hill Street, or call us at 401-845-5800.

The Newport Recreation Department has a variety of programming for all ages. Information may be found on the Recreation Activities page along with registration information.

Programs fill fast with priority for Newport residents.We welcome your ideas and support to increase our outreach into the community.
