Desfile del Día de San Patricio cancelado debido a coronavirus
La decisión sigue a la solicitud directa de la oficina del gobernador
Newport, RI (Miércoles, 11 de marzo de, 2020) - Después de recibir nuevas instrucciones de la oficina del gobernador y el Departamento de Rhode Island de la Salud, el Ayuntamiento votó el miércoles a pesar, cancelar 64º desfile del día del St. Patrick anual de este sábado.
La decisión, que sigue a una solicitud directa de la gobernadora Gina Raimondo, se está tomando con gran pesar y con mucha precaución.

City Joins Nextdoor Community as Partner Agency
Effort Aims to Reach Residents through Neighborhood Social Networking Site
NEWPORT, R.I. (Wednesday, October 9, 2019) – The City of Newport on Wednesday announced it has joined Nextdoor, the private social networking site for neighborhoods, as a Partner Agency.
The decision to join Nextdoor is part of an ongoing effort to advance the City’s technological and civic engagement strategy, and follows the launch of a new Smart911 Emergency Alert system last month.

City to Introduce new Emergency Alert System
NEWPORT, R.I. (Friday, September 6, 2019) – Newport’s emergency management operators will have a pair of new tools at their disposal beginning later this month.
As part of the City’s ongoing effort to improve its emergency preparedness and response capabilities, the City of Newport will be transitioning to a new emergency notification system designed to significantly enhance the City’s ability to communicate with residents, businesses, and visitors in the event of an emergency.
